Bill Kendrick - Producer/Director/Writer

Bill has spent 30 years as a television journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. His career has taken him from Manitoba to Ontario and then to Prince Edward Island. He has worked as a camera operator/editor, reporter, current affairs producer/director and Executive Producer.

As Executive Producer of Country Canada, he travelled across the country for five years producing stories about the Canadian food production industry and its impact on the environment. Between 1988 and 1993, he was Senior Producer Current Affairs and then Executive Producer of the CBC Evening News in Toronto responsible for productions that won over 15 awards including a Gemini.

Since moving to PEI ten years ago, he has worked as a freelance Field Producer/Director for such programs as Venture, W5, Country Canada, CPAC, WETV and the local CBC station. From 1994-2000 he worked on contract as a reporter and video-journalist in Summerside producing material for the daily news show COMPASS.

In 2000, he established his own independent production company, Island Images Inc. and co-produced documentary projects for CBC Newsworld-Rough Cuts (Paradise in Peril) and Vision TV (Soul Expressions). He was also director and co-writer on Paradise in Peril.

Under Spirit in her Voice Productions Inc., Bill produced/co-directed a one hour performing arts documentary called Measha Brueggergosman - Spirit in her Voice which aired Oct. 16, 2003 on the CBC program Opening Night.

In addition, Island Images Inc. recently completed Bed & Breakfast Dream, a one hour special for HGTV Canada to be airing March 20, 2004.

Island Images Inc, in conjunction with Salt Water Communications Inc. has a development agreement with CBC to create a series for the CBC-Country Canada channel.
